This is a complete guide showing how to bridge your ELAND token from the Ethereum Blockchain to the Polygon Network (previously Matic) as well as using this network Decentralized Exchange leader QuickSwap for your transactional needs. The Matic Web Wallet only supports MetaMask and the Coinbase Wallet, however QuickSwap does not support the Coinbase Wallet. For this reason, it is recommended to use MetaMask. If you don’t have a MetaMask wallet, you can download it for free on their official website.
Connecting with the Polygon Network
The first thing to know about Polygon (Matic) is the network uses the same address as the Ethereum Blockchain does. When bridging your ELAND tokens, you don’t need to send your token to another address. You will be using the same wallet address for both chains. MetaMask already gives you other network options beside the Ethereum Mainnet, but to use the Polygon network, you will need to add it manually.
To do so, follow the next steps.
When opening your MetaMask wallet, you will see at the top “Ethereum Mainnet”. After clicking on it, you will see a list of already available networks. To add Matic, you need to click on Custom RPC and add the following information.
For ease of use, you can copy and past the information below.
Network Name: Matic Mainnet
New RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com/
Chain ID: 137
Currency Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.matic.network/
Once the information is added, click save and the Matic Network will appear in the network list. You are now able to choose between the Ethereum Mainnet and the Polygon network to accomplish the desired operation. If you encounter any balance issues later on, be sure to check which network you are using first.
Adding the ELAND token
To be able to see the balance of your ELAND once you transfer them to the Matic network, you will need to add the token to your MetaMask Wallet. To do so click on “Add Token” and enter the ELAND contract address for the Matic network: 0xb0f61C597BBcc29f3f38396B01f9C0f0C2e8BFf0
Once the smart contract address is entered the token symbol and decimals of precision will be automatically displayed. You just need to click on “Next”, then “Add Token”. As your tokens have not been transferred to the Matic network yet, your balance will show “0”.
Your wallet is now ready to receive your ELAND from the Ethereum Blockchain.
Bridge your ELAND
Bridging token on the Matic network is easily done thanks to the Matic Bridge v2.
Before bridging your ELAND make sure you are using the Ethereum network with your MetaMask wallet. If you are on the Matic network, you need to go back to the Ethereum mainnet by choosing from selection at the top of your Metamask wallet.
On the bridge display, make sure you are going from Ethereum to the Matic network. You can use the switch button to change which network you are transferring your asset to. Choose the token from the Ethereum network that you want to bridge. In the case of the ELAND, you need to type “Etherland” into the search bar. The ELAND will be shown as well as your current balance for both networks.
Select the amount of tokens you want to bridge to the Matic network and press Transfer. You will be met with a disclaimer, then an overview of the gas fees in ETH. If you want to pursue, press “Continue” and confirm the transaction in MetaMask. The operation can take a few minutes. Once the transaction is processed you will see your asset on the Matic network in your Metamask wallet.
Trading on QuickSwap
With the launch of Etherland on Polygon, an ELAND/USDC pair has been opened on QuickSwap. If you are familiar with UniSwap, it is just as easy to use. Select the token you want to exchange. For example, if you want to buy ELAND tokens with USDC, select USDC under ‘From’ and search for ‘ELAND’ under the ‘To’ selection. Approve the token, then you ar ready to swap. After enough confirmations, your ELAND will appear in your wallet.
If you want to buy ELAND with another cryptocurrency than USDC, for example ETH or DAI, QuickSwap will find a route to convert your currency into USDC and then exchange it for ELAND automatically.
Provide liquidity to the ELAND pool and earn rewards!
If you wish to add liquidity to the ELAND/USDC pool and earn a share of the trading fees, just go on the pool section of QuickSwap and click on Add Liquidity. Select USDC and ELAND and adjust your participation. An equal amount in value for both asset is required to provide liquidity. Once you are ready, click the “Supply” button and accept the transaction in your wallet. You will then receive an ERC20 token accounting for your share of the pool. You can withdraw your participation as well as your fees earned at anytime under the Pool section of QuickSwap as well as access your analytics.
